Mrs. Doug said how much it meant to her to see everyone Saturday.  She said it was just wonderful.  They are so thankful for the love everyone showed and continues to show.  Now they are settling in.  They've had a bunch of people out to the house to get things lined up and do lots of paper work.  They've had a physical therapist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, a nurse and home health all come out and get a plan as to how things will work.

Today they had to go to the Dr. Griffin to see about getting a blood thinner to prevent a blood clot due to his atrial fibrillation and they had to do blood work, which will be required weekly with the medications he is on.  Mrs. Doug is hopeful that from now own they will be able to do the blood work from the house.

Yesterday, the physical therapist had him walking him in the house.  They didn't have the cane he needed yesterday, but it came in today, so he'll be able to use it tomorrow.  Each therapist will be coming three times a week.  She said they are all really nice and they are looking forward to working with them.

Next week, they are going to try to have someone come and sit with him so that she can go back to work.  She wants to try to get on a more normal schedule and she's hoping that will help motivate him to stay with it and work.  He seems to be a little discouraged and unmotivated since he's been home so far.  So we need to be praying specifically for him in that regard and ask God to show us what we can do to encourage him.  Mrs. Doug said to feel free to stop by and visit and offer encouragement to him. If you would like to bring a meal, coordinate with Tammy Watkins at the church office (682-7458) so we can spread it out and make sure we aren't all bringing the same stuff.

"5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
   my hope comes from him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
   he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
   he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
   pour out your hearts to him,
   for God is our refuge.
"  Psalm 62:5-8

  1. OK....you're home, settled in, still work to be done! It will be easy to just settle in and take it easy, but now the work really begins, maybe the hardest work... you have reached your first goal by getting home....now you're working for the main goal, getting back to where you were.....and you will...I have described 'my' problem of 'not' doing...I know you will not have this problem....love & prayers, Jim & Julia
