March 23, 2012

Mrs. Doug called and I could tell she is super excited about the fact that they are coming home tomorrow!  She said Bro. Dale is too.  He has had a huge grin on his face all day!  She doubts either of them get a whole lot of sleep tonight.  But she's got the car loaded and thinks they will be discharged by 10 in the morning.  She's going to call me when they leave Jackson and again when they get to the county line.  I will post here as soon as I hear anything!  We hope to see as many of you as possible on Main Street in Vardaman around 1pm tomorrow for the "Welcome Home Line-up!"  We want to give Bro. Dale a welcome that shows how excited we are for him and how much support they have here at home.  If you can make a sign or banner, then great!  If not, just come stand along Main Street and cheer when they arrive with their police escort.  They will be traveling through Grenada to Calhoun City on to Vardaman, so anyone along the route that wants to post a sign or be ready to wave, the more the merrier!

Another surprise that Bro. Dale has waiting on him tomorrow is his daughter Joan will be flying in and joining us on Main Street!  He will be so excited to see her, I know.

Mrs. Doug also reported that today he got all good reports.  They worked really hard this week on transfers to make sure that Mrs. Doug knows how to get him in and out of all sorts of situations.  She thinks she's ready.

During their time in Jackson, they bonded with all of the nurses and therapists there.  Mrs. Doug said they have all just been so incredibly good to them and so sweet and encouraging.  They said special good-byes today to their physical therapist there.  She told Mrs. Doug she feels like a mother hen letting her little chick go.  They all shared some tears today.

"3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."  Philippians 1:3-6
