We are inviting everyone that is available and interested to participate in a "welcome home line-up." They will be traveling through Grenada, Calhoun City and to Vardaman. They will be coming by the church before venturing home. We thought it would be awesome for everyone to welcome him/them by showing your love and support and lining the highways, driveways and downtown! As many as are able to gather on Main Street in Vardaman with posters, banners, streamers, etc, the better!! But if you aren't able to be there, whether you will be on the ball field, working in the yard or wherever you may be, please take a few minutes to participate. Let's show our love and support once again by welcoming them home this Saturday, March 24th! Mrs. Doug said they expect they will be discharged around 10 am on Saturday, so I suspect it will be around 1pm or a little later when they will be arriving. I will have her call me when she gets to the county line and I will post here and on facebook as soon as I hear. The police will be ready to escort them from Derma to Vardaman. I had to let her in on the secret, but it will be a complete surprise for Bro. Dale. Let's surprise her though with a great turn out!
Mrs. Doug reported that he's had a good day today. They've started an oral medication to help with the tightening of his right hand. They also fitted him with a new splint that will help him stretch those fingers out and such.
She said that the OT was named Beverly and had him trying to count again today with his exercises. He was able to say "one" just as clearly as anyone and he was trying to say "two" as well. But she asked him if he could say her name and he got the "buh" sound out and eventually had it more like "Bev." So Mrs. Doug said, "well, you can tell Beverly that he said her name before mine, but as long as he's talking, I don't care whose name he calls!"
"1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:1-3
